Personal Interests

“Albert Einstein once said: ‘Problems cannot be solved by the same level of thinking that created them.’ In my personal life, I strive to solve problems by exploring new ways of thinking and focusing on body and mind wellness.

I love the outdoors, and enjoy camping, hiking, skiing, scuba diving, traveling and flying planes, which I’ve been doing since I was 17 years old. I’m actively involved with Flying Doctors of America, a charity program that provides medical and dental care to people in underdeveloped regions of the world. My first trip with the organization was to the Amazon in my native country Brazil. In 2010, I made a trip with Flying Doctors of America to the small nation of Bhutan in South Asia.

I also love spending time with my daughter, Sophia, who’s the apple of my eye. We do a lot of things together, but these days, we’re focusing on homework. Sophia is considering becoming an orthodontist when she grows up, and I’m very proud that she may want to follow in my dental footsteps.”
